Our favourite cuddly friend Woody bear took to the road recently to take part in the annual mascot race at the 2019 Suffolk Show at Trinity Park, outside Ipswich.
Run by the Suffolk Agricultural Association, the Suffolk Show is a celebration of the history and future of Suffolk, taking pride in its rural heritage with shows in heavy horses, pig racing, tractor stunts and farmyard animal displays, as well as fairgrounds, charity stalls, mobile diners, Ariel displays and so much more.
Covered by BBC Radio Suffolk, the mascot race featured Woody’s friends from Ipswich Town Football Club, Easton Farm Park, St Elizabeth Hospice, Oven Blitzer, Suffolk New College and Pudsey the bear among overs. After two heats and a final, this year’s title went to Curle the Chimp from Curle Electrical.
