Applications close 31st January 2025. Applicants must be aged 16 years or over at the time of employment. Those applying as ride operatives, security personnel and bar service personnel must be aged 18 years or over. Security applicants must have a current SIA certification. Applicants for first aid responders must hold First Aid at Work 3-day course certification.

We have exciting new positions available to join the much loved and revered animal team at Pleasurewood Hills. Display Presenters
We are recruiting for part-time presenters for our animal displays. Applicants must be upbeat and enthusiastic and engaging with guests. A background in animal or biological science is desirable but not essential. Willingness to learn and confidence around birds is essential.
Research Students
Are you studying an animal or biological science related course? Want to learn more from experts in the field? Pleasurewood Hills encourages and supports research which benefits animal management, conservation and contributes to the knowledge we hold about animals. If you are looking to undertake some research to support your college or university course, or first-hand experience for a dissertation or coursework, do get in touch.
Internships and Volunteering
Are you interested in getting some practical experience in animal care to compliment your animal studies? We are able to offer opportunities for both regular volunteering and block internships to help you gain more hands on experience in this field. An exciting opportunity has come available at Pleasurewood Hills to join the team and lead our engineer and maintenance team, as we look for our future Technical Manager.
Job Purpose
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of park maintenance, including rides and attractions, buildings, facilities and infrastructure throughout their lifecycle, you will take the lead for the department to deliver the best engineering service possible by setting the highest standards and underpinning them with the skills and competence to maximise ride capacity, reduce downtime and improve reliability.
Being a strong and dynamic leader, you will deliver sustained improvements across the Maintenance and Grounds Keeping Teams whilst meeting legislative compliance.
Duties
Finance and Strategy
- Working with Finance Manager to ensure budgets are not exceeded for departments listed above.
- Provide end to end auditability for all assets, equipment, tools and materials used within the team
- Procure best value on all goods and services provided to the business and conduct periodic supplier reviews
- Produce a five-year rolling planned and preventative maintenance schedule for upgrades to assets to maintain compliance and improve asset performance
Human Resources
- Recruit, manage and motivate the Maintenance Team to consistently deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
- Develop work plans, objectives, and goals for staff within your areas of responsibility, and provide regular feedback to the team.
- Coordinate/deliver regular training to the team to ensure all standards of safety and guest experience are being achieved
- Ensure the culture of our attraction through recognizing, rewarding and encouraging team members as well as delivering memorable moments to the team.
- Ensure sufficient resource is available on a daily basis to maintain optimum asset performance.
- Produce, implement and review competency standards across the team.
- Monitor the performance of the team, and where necessary use the HR performance management tools available.
- Work with the Operations Teams to ensure processes and procedures are aligned, briefed and trained jointly.
- Ensure all essential training for the team is carried out across the department and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure compliance.
- Build and create an environment that supports high performance of individuals allowing them to excel and develop in their duties.
Health and Safety
- Manage the overall Health and Safety of the department as required to assess, document and implement continued improvements with support and guidance from the Group Health and Safety Team.
- Ensure all procedures are sufficiently documented and trained out, including any inter-department procedures.
- Continually review legal requirements, industry requirements, best practice to implement where applicable to ensure compliance across all ride related assets.
- Take full responsibility for the maintenance systems and processes, supplementing these where required.
- Set standards for all checks and inspections required on assets.
- Ensure annual inspection program is managed within the needs of the business to allow full capacity of rides to be available when required.
- Produce detailed risk managements, continually carrying out reviews and implementing safe systems of work.
- Periodically assess processes to identify, justify and implement improvements within the team.
- Review maintenance plan and systems of work to ensure compliance with manufacturers recommendations, legal requirements as well as introducing changes that will improve and prolong asset life.
- To oversee any ride project to ensure compliance with industry and legal requirements.
- Ensure all Notification of Changes are documented and submitted to our inspection body.
- Monitor and analyse trends in breakdowns to identify, justify and implement improvements required.
Customer and Stakeholder Satisfaction
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders both internal and external.
- Keeping abreast of developments in the industry, both internal and external, such as changes in legislation
- Understanding local community issues and building relationships with local government and external partners
- Schedule appointments and meetings as necessary

Have a passion for professional horticulture? We have an position of Grounds Keeper come available at Pleasurewood Hills. The park is situation within beautiful Corton woodland, and our green spaces are precious to us. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a love for gardening and nature, with a keen eye for detail and loves working with people. From maintaining our lawns, to landscaping new beds, to clearing the ponds, it's a great opportunity for those who love to work with the land.
Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the role of Groundskeeper has the responsibility for all aspects of the day to day maintaining of the parks grounds as well as to interact with guests to ensure we always meet guest expectations.
This role is key to driving overall guest satisfaction and promoting of the business. You will be expected to achieve tasks that are set and play a key role in ensuring the park achieves the company set KPI targets for cleanliness and park atmosphere. Always maintain a professional attitude and appearance for internal and external customers.
Duties
- Maintaining the condition and appearance lawns including mowing, fertilizing and watering.
- Maintaining flower beds across the park including planting, weeding, watering, removal of brambles and disposal of all organic material for composting in designated location.
- Trimming bushes and hedges around the park.
- Assisting to maintain footpaths through the removal of weeds, moss leaves and other debris.
- Cleaning and painting of benches, flag poles, fences and signs across the park.
- Maintain bodies of water across the park including removal of foreign bodies such as algae, leaves, rubbish and silt build up. Monitoring water levels daily, ensuring all theming is in place and fountains are working correctly
- Cleaning and maintaining all equipment and materials used to carry out daily activities.
- Report any faulty equipment to line manager to ensure all equipment is always available.
- Work with line manager to ensure that a preventative maintenance schedule is in place and followed.
