Founder Revisits Pleasurewood Hills - Pleasurewood Hills

A very welcome, familiar face was seen at Pleasurewood Hills today as the team welcomed the entrepreneur who started it all.

Joe Larter is the original founder of Pleasurewood Hills. He had a vision to create an all-American theme park in the East of England and in 1983, Pleasurewood Hills was born. First featuring the miniature train, Cine 180 and adventure playground, the much-loved Suffolk attraction now features over 35 rides shows and attractions, including the region’s tallest roller coaster Wipeout, the all-time favourite pirate ship and the brand new Egg-Spress. During his career Mr Larter also helped establish Norfolk Sealife Centres, the Bure Valley Railway and Riley’s Believe It Or Not! and The Village Experience along with many other tourist attractions across the world. He has since written a biography of his journey, Serendipity, detailing his triumphs and tribulations in the world of business and his many loving memories of East Anglia’s premier theme park.

On his visit to the park, Mr Larter saw the development of the park, met the team and was guided round the grounds by the attraction’s new General Manager, Ricky Lark. “It was wonderful to meet Mr Larter today. It is amazing to think that all this here because of him, that one man has helped create so many wonderful memories for families and friends over the years, many employment opportunities and has helped put Suffolk firmly on the map for UK tourism.”

Terms and conditions

All packages must be pre-booked and pre-paid at least two weeks’ in advance of the planned party date. A 20% deposit is required upon booking. Please note that we are unable to refund children cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Free admission for parents of the birthday child who are season pass holders will not be entitled to the free admission for parents as this is already included with the pass. Both season pass and non season pass birthday bookings are to collect their entry bands from reception upon arrival.

Menu requirements must be provided at least three days prior to the party; this will help us to deliver a prompt service and not delay your fun.

The prices shown are irrespective of age. Guests under 90cm in height enter the park free of charge (meals are chargeable). Groups are a minimum of 20 paid guests.

These group rates cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or discounts. In order to guarantee the above group rates, we would need a firm booking together with payment at least 14 days in advance of your visit.

Our corporate packages are bespoke based on the requirements of our guests. Exclusive use of park venues are subject to availability. Request for use of the park's conference facilities must be made no less than 14 days prior to visit. Enquiries are confirmed once an invoice has been issued. Any changes of numbers must be confirmed no later than 14 days prior to the date of visit. Bookings with late changes will be charged at the original invoice amount.
