Woody Bear Visits Pathways Care Farm - Pleasurewood Hills

Our favourite cuddly bear was out on his travels recently and paid a visit to a group of great people doing amazing work in the community who have been selected as one of our nominated charities for 2019.

A working farm since the 17^th Century and located of the A12 near Millennium Way, Pathways Care Farm was set up to provide a safe and productive space for those experiencing dementia and other mental health issues, helping them discover a sense of peace and belonging through gardening and animal care.

Activities include vegetable growing, flower care, animal wellbeing and a peaceful sensory garden, where visitors can tend to the flower beds and enjoy the surroundings. Referrals are made through social and health care services, teachers, parents and even self-referrals. Participation at the farm helps individuals build self-esteem, increase confidence, improve social interaction and much more.

Charity founder Geoff Stevens enjoys offering support to the community. “Farms were at the heart of local communities especially in East Anglia. The great thing about working the land is it brings you together with like-minded individuals who share a love for the land and it gives you a chance to escape the stresses and pressures of everyday life, and with the physical effort it’s great for the body and the mind. We have had the privilege to help many people who seek a sense of community to rebuild their lives and offer them support through gardening and farm work. It is a truly rewarding experience and we are honoured to be part of the community”.

Terms and conditions

All packages must be pre-booked and pre-paid at least two weeks’ in advance of the planned party date. A 20% deposit is required upon booking. Please note that we are unable to refund children cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Free admission for parents of the birthday child who are season pass holders will not be entitled to the free admission for parents as this is already included with the pass. Both season pass and non season pass birthday bookings are to collect their entry bands from reception upon arrival.

Menu requirements must be provided at least three days prior to the party; this will help us to deliver a prompt service and not delay your fun.

The prices shown are irrespective of age. Guests under 90cm in height enter the park free of charge (meals are chargeable). Groups are a minimum of 20 paid guests.

These group rates cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or discounts. In order to guarantee the above group rates, we would need a firm booking together with payment at least 14 days in advance of your visit.

Our corporate packages are bespoke based on the requirements of our guests. Exclusive use of park venues are subject to availability. Request for use of the park's conference facilities must be made no less than 14 days prior to visit. Enquiries are confirmed once an invoice has been issued. Any changes of numbers must be confirmed no later than 14 days prior to the date of visit. Bookings with late changes will be charged at the original invoice amount.
