Woody's Cub House Opens This Weekend! - Pleasurewood Hills

A brand new indoor soft play area and sensory room opens its doors this Saturday (June 23) at Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft.

Work has been going on to renovate an empty building and turn it in to Woody’s Cub House. After gutting the whole building, it was time for a team from the House of Play, specialists in manufacturing and installing soft play areas, to begin the transformation. The final finishing touches are now being made for the purpose-built area which will feature plenty of places for little ones to climb and explore. The addition of a separate sensory room will provide a more relaxed and calming space for young babies and children with autism or emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Adam Noble, General Manager at Pleasurewood Hills, said: “This is the third major investment at the park since the start of 2017 and we’re really pleased with how the play area has come together. We’re really looking forward to it opening and believe it will be a popular addition to the park.

“While we were developing the ideas for the play area I learned about the positive effect sensory rooms can have. We have an increasing number of enquiries about the park’s suitability for people with autism and thought the sensory room would be a valuable addition,” he added.

Woody’s Cub House is named after Pleasurewood Hills’ mascot Woody Bear, who has been a ‘resident’ at the park for many of the 35 years it has been open. Even after all the years it has been open, Pleasurewood Hills remains a popular tourist attraction and last month saw a record breaking 20,000 visitors set foot inside the park – the highest total recorded for any May during the last 10 years.

Visitors to Pleasurewood Hills this Saturday and Sunday will be able to explore Woody’s Cub House from 10am until the park closes and, as it’s opening weekend, Woody Bear may also be putting in a special appearance or two.

Woody’s Cub House will be open every weekend and on days the park is open. Entrance to the Cub House is included in the price of entry to the park.

All packages must be pre-booked and pre-paid at least two weeks’ in advance of the planned party date. A 20% deposit is required upon booking. Please note that we are unable to refund children cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Free admission for parents of the birthday child who are season pass holders will not be entitled to the free admission for parents as this is already included with the pass. Both season pass and non season pass birthday bookings are to collect their entry bands from reception upon arrival.

Menu requirements must be provided at least three days prior to the party; this will help us to deliver a prompt service and not delay your fun.

The prices shown are irrespective of age. Guests under 90cm in height enter the park free of charge (meals are chargeable). Groups are a minimum of 20 paid guests.

These group rates cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or discounts. In order to guarantee the above group rates, we would need a firm booking together with payment at least 14 days in advance of your visit.

Our corporate packages are bespoke based on the requirements of our guests. Exclusive use of park venues are subject to availability. Request for use of the park's conference facilities must be made no less than 14 days prior to visit. Enquiries are confirmed once an invoice has been issued. Any changes of numbers must be confirmed no later than 14 days prior to the date of visit. Bookings with late changes will be charged at the original invoice amount.
